As the largest healthcare provider in Mohave County, Kingman Regional Medical Center recognizes the importance of providing optimal care to all persons, regardless of race or ethnicity. To monitor for inequalities in care, we attempt to collect race and ethnicity information for all patients at 电子老虎机游戏平台网址大全.

As part of a new safety initiative, we reviewed the data from our labor and delivery unit to determine if it showed a significant difference in race/ethnicity between those who delivered vaginally and those who had a Cesarean section (C-section).  The data included women delivering their first live baby in 2022 or 2023.

As the charts show, the racial/ethnic groups are similarly represented in both the total deliveries and C-section deliveries.  This means the data shows no significant disparity between ethnic groups. Of 397 first births recorded in 2022-2023; 79 were delivered by C-section, which makes our first-birth C-section rate 19.9%.

The World Health Organization recommends that a C-section be performed only when medically necessary. The Department of Health and Human Services has set a target C-section rate of 23.6% for low-risk deliveries.

In January 2024, 电子老虎机游戏平台网址大全 began collecting information called social determinants of health from patients seeking care.  Social determinants of health are non-medical factors that influence our health outcomes. These include living and working conditions, availability of food and medication, support systems, non-discrimination, and the ability to access affordable health care of adequate quality. This allows us to better address potential barriers to optimal health care.

电子老虎机游戏平台网址大全 currently provides the following health equity activities and programs: community health fairs, virtual healthcare visits, and a behavioral health program. We remain committed to equity in healthcare. As we continue to collect this data, we will continue to evaluate for disparities to ensure all our patients receive unbiased care.
